Environment Leeds is the home of the Leeds Climate Change Startegy Group, but its remit is much wider with other partnerships, such as Aire Action Leeds, falling under the Environment Leeds umbrella.
Climate Change is a current and pressing headline issue, and Leeds demonstrated its commitment to tackling climate change when it signed the Nottingham Declaration. As part of its commitment, Leeds is developing a Climate Change Strategy for the city.
The Climate Change Strategy Group is compiled of seven task groups, which are:
- adaptation;
- built environment;
- education and awareness;
- natural environment;
- planning and development;
- procurement;
- transport; and
- waste
