achieve your goal and meet like minded people at the same time. Here
are some details of some groups in the Leeds area.
Armley Common Right Trust
Maintaining the parks of Armley.
Green Drinks Leeds
A monthly social networking event for anyone in the Leeds area interested
in green issues and the environment.
Leeds Friends of the Earth
Local arm of the campaign group, aiming to secure Leeds' clean, green
future.
Leeds Permaculture Network
A group of people interested in learning about and using permaculture to
transform their local environment and living spaces.
Leeds Urban Harvest
A voluntary run project that aims to collect and distribute varieties of
soft fruits that grow unharvested around the city on trees and bushes
in public and private spaces.
Stop Climate Chaos Leeds
Part of the national Stop Climate Chaos Coalition, this is a grassroots
group of ordinary people from in and around Leeds who have come together
to take action to stop climate change by lobbying decision-makers,
organising demonstrations, and engaging communities.
SURE (SUstainable and REnewable Energy in Wharfdale)
A group of people who are helping local people in Wharfdale with
practical solutions to reduce home fuel bills.
Trade Injustice and Debt Action Leeds (TIDAL)
A group of grassroots campaigners who fight against climate change,
unfair debt payments and unjust trade rules.
Transition City Leeds
A group encouraging local communities to respond to the challenges and
opportunities of peak oil and climate change.
Transition Inner North-West of Leeds Forum (TINWOLF)
A Transition City Leeds group specifically covering Burley, Headlingly,
Hyde Park, Kirkstall, Little London, Meanwood and Woodhouse.
