Leeds needs pioneers to live greener lives for an exciting research project.
If you’d be prepared to pledge to try a more environmentally friendly lifestyle, then you’re an ideal candidate for Greener Together.
The Natural Food Store, in conjunction with Headlingly Development Trust, are taking part in the Government funded action research project to see how easy – or how difficult – it is to carry out actions in your daily life that your reduce your impact on the environment. You’ll be asked to make pledges to reduce your carbon emissions from waste, energy or your personal transport and report on it. You may find that you save money in the process.
If you’ve never done anything ‘green’ before, or don’t do much more than recycling, because you weren’t sure what you could do or how you could do it, then this project is a great place to start. You’ll receive support and encouragement to decide what’s best for you. If you’ve already begun to make changes to become greener then getting involved will help you to go further and help you to learn what’s most effective. Ultimately it’s up to you to decide which pledges you can do and try to stick to. All the pledges will be about reducing carbon emissions, so whatever you choose, simple or not, it’ll be about making an important difference.
If you’re interested in taking part, then visit the Greener Together website and register. You must register and complete the base line survey before 2 June. When you register, you must sign up under the Natural Food Store, Headlingly. You don’t need to live in Headingly, but you must live in Leeds.
If you’d like to discuss the project before signing up, you can contact Laura Taggart.
And as always, if you are, or want to live a greener life, you can always take the Leeds Climate Pledge and join a growing community of like minded individuals.
