The Big Lunch is back for its second year. The Big Lunch is a national campaign backed by the Eden Project. It is aimed at getting everyone in the UK to sit down and have lunch together with their neighbours on 18 July 2010. Modelled on the street parties of wartime Britain, it asks people to be creative and hold parties in the middle of their streets, in their gardens and in local parks or common ground. The food, entertainment and decorations should be either grown, cooked, or created by the people holding the party. The aim is to put a smile back on people’s faces and get everyone talking to their neighbours.
