Since 2004, Leeds has been developing a strategic and mutually beneficial relationship with the city of Braşov (pronounced Brashoff), with links in the fields of
- culture
- education
- social services
- international trade and investment.
Braşov occupies a central position in Romania and is a very important industrial, cultural and business centre and is also home to five Universities.
Co-operation in the business sector has led to the launch of the Central and Eastern European Business Network (CEBN), in 2008 in which Brasov is a key partner.
Business links and other connections are also maintained by the Anglo-Romanian friendship society, formed in 2009.
