The Leeds 2012 Task Group was set up following the announcement by the International Olympic Committee that the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in London.

The Task Group aims to ensure that Leeds contribute to delivering a successful Games, but also that Leeds, and the region, can benefit from the Games being hosted in the UK, particularly by developing sporting, educational and cultural opportunities for Leeds residents.
