Leeds Divers Gallantree and Blagg impress in Canada
New 3 metre synchro divers Rebecca Gallantree and Alicia Blagg keep on improving on the international diving scene. The unlikely pairing of 25 year old Olympian Gallantree and 13 year old Blagg have raised a few eyebrows along the way.
After a fantastic 4th place at the Russian Grand Prix in March they impressed even more at the Canadian Grand Prix. Again they were in 4th place but with even a higher score than their previous competition and a smaller gap to the 3rd place.
This was only the 2nd Senior International competition for Blagg who hasn’t even done a Junior international yet. All round diver Gallantree also got a 4th place in the 10 metre synchro event with Stacie Powell from Southampton. Gallantree also performed in the 3 metre individual and advanced into the semi finals where she was eliminated.
Other Leeds divers performing in Canada were Helen Galashan and Sarah Barrow who both competed in the 10 metre individual. Both advanced to the semi finals where Galashan placed 5th and Barrow 6th. Both were eliminated.
