Carnegie-anniversary-flyerThe winner of Great Britain’s first gymnastics medal for over eighty years, Louis Smith, will be taking part in a gymnastics competition being held at Leeds Met to celebrate 75 years of Carnegie.

The Carnegie name has been associated with sporting excellence in Leeds for over seventy years, with Louis Smith’s involvement in the celebrations, Leeds Met is highlighting it’s association with sporting greats and as Louis turns his attention to London 2012, Leeds Met too, is looking ahead to the future and the development of athletes.

Louis, who won a silver medal in the pommel event at this summers Beijing Olympics, will be competing against fellow British Olympics team mate Daniel Keatings and two time world champion and the first ever gymnast to compete in five Olympic games Jordan Jovtchev in ‘The Rose Bowl Competition’.

The Rose Bowl Competition is an invitational men’s artistic gymnastics competition and will feature some of the best gymnasts from across the UK.

The competition takes place on Saturday 11th October and starts at 1.00pm.

Tickets will be going on sale on Monday 1st of September and are available online at TicketWeb.co.uk or from Carnegie Sport Reception and cost £6 for adults and £4 for students and concessions.
