Lord Coe, Chairman of LOCOG, has acknowledged that "the role for the FE and HE sectors in the four year run up to London 2012 is set to be huge, with institutions involved in numerous different aspects of the Games". He added: "I am delighted to be speaking at ‘Four years in the Global spotlight’, which I believe will be a great opportunity for colleges and universities to learn how best to engage with all London 2012 has to offer."

David Lammy MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Skills said; "The Olympic and Paralympic Games are a once in a lifetime opportunity for individuals, businesses and for the further and higher education sectors.
