Find out more about the partnership (click on the links below):
Healthy Leeds set up local partnerships for health and wellbeing in 2009. This was so local expertise and innovation could help develop city-wide strategies and plans. This also meant commissioning could be informed by local views in particular parts of the city and reflect the needs of particular communities of interest.
The partnerships are supported by Health and Wellbeing Improvement Managers, employed by Leeds Adult Social Care and NHS Leeds. The Health and Wellbeing Improvement Manager for the South East area is Bash Uppal on 0113 2475685 or email baksho.uppal@leeds.gov.uk.
The South East wedge of Leeds comprises the Inner South, Outer South and Outer East areas of Leeds. To find out which parts of Leeds make up the South East area please click here.
The partnerships are also supported by an elected health champion nominated by each area committee in the city. To find out more about the role of the health champion please download the role description to the right of this page. Leeds City Council has nominated three Councillor Health Champions for this area. They are:
- Councillor Kim Groves - Inner South Health Champion
- Councillor James Lewis - Outer South Health Champion
- Councillor Shirley Varley - Outer East Health Champion
